Where is the Glenfiddich Distillery?

How do I get to the Distillery, nearest train station?

 

The nearest train stations are Keith and Huntly, both situated on the mainline between Inverness and Aberdeen. Additionally, the Number 36 (Elgin to Dufftown) bus service, operating Monday to Saturday, conveniently stops just outside the Distillery. You can find the timetable HERE.

 

The nearest airports are Aberdeen and Inverness. The journey to Glenfiddich Distillery takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes by car from Aberdeen Airport (84 km) and around 1 hour 20 minutes from Inverness Airport (76 km).

What are the opening hours?

 

7 days a week;

9:30am to 14:45pm.

 

May – August:

7 tours which run every 45 minutes.

 

September to April:

5 tours which run every 1.5 hours.

Solera Deconstructed Tour (2.5 hours)

Available 7 days a week.

 

Milestones Tour (4 hours)

Every Thursday from 10am – 2pm

Lunch will be served after the tour.

What are the prices?

 

Glenfiddich Tour - £30 per person

Solera Deconstructed Tour - £75 per person

Do I need to book in advance?

 

For the best chance, we advise booking well in advance, as availability is limited, and demand is often very high.

How far in advance can a tour be booked?

 

Our booking systems operate on a 12-week lead time. Therefore, tours are only available to book online 12 weeks in advance.

Can I do tastings but no tour?

 

We do not conduct tastings, however, you are welcome to visit our Whisky Lounge where we have an extensive range of Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky.

Is there a tasting included in the tour?

 

Yes, a Glenfiddich tasting session is included in the tour.

Can I just visit?

 

To explore our historical warehouses and whisky making areas, we kindly request that you book a tour. However, our Whisky Lounge, Gift Shop, and reception area are open for unaccompanied visits, we invite you to drop by and enjoy these spaces at your leisure.

Do you do walk ins?

 

We strongly recommend pre-booking your tour to ensure you secure a spot. The chances of joining a tour without prior booking are very slim due to high demand.

What payment methods do you accept?

 

We accept card and cash. Amex, Mastercard and Visa are accepted.

How do I book my tickets?

Do I need to print my tickets?

 

We have a record of your booking, therefore, there is no need to print your tickets.

Do you offer concession tickets?

 

We do not offer concession tickets.

Is the tour/experience indoors?

 

Most of the tour is indoors but there are times where you will be outside as you move between buildings.

What should I wear?

 

Distilleries can be dusty and hot, and it rains quite a lot in Scotland. Wear sturdy shoes and casual wear that you do not mind getting a little dirty.

Are all tours guided?

 

Yes.

What languages are the tours available in?

 

Tours are conducted exclusively in English.

What do I do if I want to change the date or time of my experience?

 

Please reach out to bookings@glenfiddich.com as soon as possible. While we cannot guarantee fulfilment of last-minute requests, we will make every effort to assist you.

Can I take photos on the tour?

 

Photos are allowed on most of the route but is restricted in the following areas due to the high amounts of potentially flammable alcohol vapour in the atmosphere.


Still houses – There are certain spots from which you can take a photo. Your guide will advise.


Warehouses – No photography or filming is allowed.

I’m driving, how can I make the most of my visit?

 

Drivers receive a sample pack of Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky to take home.

What if I am late?

 

Should you anticipate being late, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to get you on the tour. Please note that late arrivals may risk missing the tour entirely if they exceed a 15 minute delay.

Where can I park?

 

Our visitor car park, located on Castle Street, directly across from the distillery which is signposted.

Is there a bar (Whisky Lounge)?

 

Our Whisky Lounge sells an extensive range of Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky.

 

It is open from:

 

All week:

09.30am to 16:00pm 

 

Alcohol is served between 10:00am to 15.30pm, with last orders at 15.30pm


 Please not that there are times when the Whisky Lounge is unavailable. If this is the main purpose of your visit please contact us beforehand to check availability.

Is there a shop?

 

The Glenfiddich Distillery Gift shop is open between 10.30 and 17.00, (Monday-Sunday).

Is there Lunch/Restaurant?

 

There is a whisky lounge on site serving spirits, beers and non alcoholic beverages from 9.30am to 4pm.

Can I bring my own food and drinks to the Distillery?

 

There are picnic tables near the visitor car park where you can enjoy your lunch should you bring your own. Please note that food and drink are not permitted in the Lounge or during the tour.

Is there disabled access?

 

While most areas of the distillery are wheelchair accessible, please note that due to the age of some buildings, certain areas of the tour may not currently be accessible to wheelchairs.

Is accommodation available?

 

We do not provide accommodation, guests will need to take care of their own accommodation arrangements.

Are children allowed on tour?

 

Our tours are exclusively for guests over 18 years old. We are unable to accommodate children while parents or caregivers are on the tour.

Can I bring my dog/pet?

 

Pets are welcome on site, but please note that they are not allowed on the tours. Additionally, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accommodate or take care of your pet during your visit.

To ensure a unique and memorable experience, we limit our tour groups to 10 people.

We run a small number of private tours subject to availability. Please contact:

We have a Whisky Lounge which offers an extensive range of Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky. We are open all week from 09:30 – 16:00.

Refunds and Cancellations

 

Should you wish to amend or cancel your booking, please contactBookings@Glenfiddich.com. Please note that with 24 hours’ notice tours are refundable however if you are cancelling within 24 hours of your tour, they are non-refundable.
