A lot of people still believe you can only enjoy a single malt whisky after a meal, the way you might enjoy a brandy or cognac. But it struck me recently that most people enjoy a whisky with food over the holidays or on Burns Night, so why don't we enjoy whisky and food more often?
A Burns Night supper is a traditional affair, celebrating the life of the Scottish poet with time-honoured dishes of haggis, neeps and tatties and, of course, a dram of your favourite single malt. But what about other food pairings?

Should you add water to your single malt?
One of the best things about being the Global Ambassador for Glenfiddich is that I get to travel the world, introducing people to our incredible whiskies and helping them get even more enjoyment from their single malt.
Wherever I am, I often find myself asked the question: do you put water in your whisky? And if so, how much? No matter where you go, you'll always find people of the opinion that whisky can only be consumed without water, "neat". In fact, it's a matter of taste.

As they’re the same age, I often get asked what are the differences between our 15 Year Old Distillery Edition and our 15 Year Old Solera. It’s quite hard to explain on paper and I’d highly recommend simply tasting it for yourself. Still, this might be a good opportunity to tell you a bit more about this wonderful expression of Glenfiddich.
Two things set our Distillery Edition apart from the rest of the Glenfiddich range. Firstly, it’s stronger – 51%ABV in fact. Secondly, it’s non chill filtered. Both of these differences have a remarkable effect on the flavour of the whisky. Let’s take a closer look…
