Introduction
These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry and claim instructions are deemed to form part of the terms and conditions and by participating, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the terms and conditions. Eligibility
This promotion is open to resident of participating country aged 21 or over and working as a bartender in same participating country.
Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, the Promotor’s subsidiaries, other group companies, its agents, or anyone else professionally connected with this promotion are excluded from entering this promotion.
Promotional Period
The promotion will run from 00:00 on 01/07/2018 to 23:00 to 20/07/18.
All entries must be submitted by 23:00 on 20/07/2018.
How to enter
To enter, visit the Glenfiddich promotional website on https://www.glenfiddich.com/in/explore/experimental-whisky/ and submit the following before the closing time and date mentioned above:
- Your details [name, DOB, residence, xxx]
- A video or photo of your serve
- A written entry detailing your concept and story
- Full details of your experimental serve or innovation, in no more than 250 words
- Details of how you would promote your serve or innovation (for example, through menus in their bar, social media, events in a bar, etc.)
- Confirmation that you accept these terms and conditions
Entry is free of charge and no purchase is necessary.
Entrants who do not give correct details or those who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified, at the Promoter’s discretion.
Judging Criteria
Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
- Must hero the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old - the winning entry will be inspired by, or with, Glenfiddich 12 Year Old and will create something that consumers of Glenfiddich will love and talk about (whether a sensory, experiential or a whisky serve).
- Must be experimental - the winning entry will demonstrate true maverick spirit, innovation and experimentation.
- Must be new and exciting - the winning entry will be a new collaboration between the entrant (bartender) and their creative collaborator partner.
- Must be relatively easy to replicate - the winning entry will be inspirational and not too complex so that it can be recreated if necessary after the event
Cocktails
If the entry involves a cocktail recipe, it must contain a minimum of 25ml of a Glenfiddich whisky and the total combined alcoholic ingredients must be equivalent to no more than 75ml at 40% alc./vol (i.e. no more than 3 units of alcohol per serve).
Originality
The entry must be the product of the entrant’s own original creation and may not be copied from any other source. Entries which are not the entrant’s original work or contain copyright or intellectual property rights from third parties will be disqualified.
Invalid Entries
An entry will be deemed invalid if it:
- contains defamatory, malicious, indecent or other inappropriate content;
- includes the names of any individual without their express permission;
- in the reasonable opinion of the Promoter, cause any widespread or serious offense (taking into account prevailing community views or standards); or
- contains content deemed socially irresponsible or likely to breach the CAP Code (available at https://www.asa.org.uk/uploads/assets/uploaded/cacc4b1f-5171-4ba4-8679bb383a25aa2a.pdf ) (for example entries that suggest or encourage irresponsible drinking or behaviour or that feature anyone who is under the age of 25).
The Promotor’s decision on the validity of the entry is final.
Entries must not contain or refer to any third party brands and must not contain or reference any third party names, logos and/or trademarks.
Delayed, incomplete or lost entries
Incomplete, illegible, misdirected or late entries will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery.
The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries which are delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.
Prizes
There is one Prize for each national competition, and one Prize in total for the global final.
Substitution or transfer of the Prize by the winner or their collaborator is not permitted.
Prize National Competition
Each winner of a national competition will have the opportunity to participate in the global final of the Glenfiddich World’s Most Experimental Bartender competition at the Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown (Scotland) from 4th till 9th November 2018.
Each winner of a national competition will chose a local high-profile influencer to collaborate with in the global final.
Included in the prize are:
- economy class return flights for the winner and their collaborator to travel together to [Aberdeen, Scotland] from the [nearest major mainland airport or railway station] in the winner’s country of residence and returning to the same airport or railway station from [Glasgow, Scotland];
- travel to The Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown from Aberdeen airport and travel from The Glenfiddich Distillery to the accommodation in Dufftown;
- a tour of The Glenfiddich Distillery;
- [Two] night’s accommodation in Dufftown for the winning bartender and their collaborator including meals each day;
- travel to Glasgow, Scotland, and [one] night’s accommodation in Glasgow; and
- all pre-approved expenses incurred when participating in the final challenge in Glasgow - competing for votes against other finalists through live collaborative challenges in an ‘open final’ in central Glasgow.
- total costs for the prize shall not exceed £10,000 and will all be approved by the awarding party in advance of incurrence.
Prize Global Final
The winner of the global final will be awarded the title of Glenfiddich World’s Most Experimental Bartender 2018.
The winner and their collaborator will be invited to travel to Tokyo and New York, each renowned for experimental mixology, throughout 2019 to showcase their serve at the world’s most influential global bar shows.
Included in the prize are:
- economy class return flights for the winner and their collaborator to travel together to Tokyo and New York from the [nearest major mainland airport]; and
- [2] nights’ accommodation in Tokyo and New York for the winning bartender and their collaborator including meals each day;
Travel arrangements
All flight tickets, hotel reservations and activities are subject to availability at the time of booking. Exact date of the trip will be agreed with the winner, subject to availability and the Promoter’s consent.
The Promoter will organise the flights and accommodation (which are subject to availability) for each winner and collaborator through the Promoter’s chosen travel agent. Travel must be booked at least thirty (30) days prior to the desired date of travel.
Once flights and accommodation are confirmed on behalf of the Promoter, no changes will be possible.
Each winner and their chosen collaborator (both of whom must be over the age of [21] will be responsible for travel to their nearest main airport or train station for their outward journey and all other personal expenses, taxes (other than those related to the air transportation), ground transportation (such as taxis and buses), excess baggage, car parking charges, additional excursions and attractions, additional spending money, cost of beverages, additional hotel expenditure and gratuities.
The winner and their collaborator must abide by and are subject to the airline’s published Conditions of Carriage.
The Promoter reserves the right to change the dates or venues of any part of the Prize if required. The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to keep entrants informed if this happens.
Each winner and their collaborator must have a valid machine readable passport with minimum 6 months validity beyond the return date, with at least 2 unstamped pages, a visa (if applicable) and any other necessary travel documentation required to travel to the destination. The winner and their guest are responsible for obtaining any visas required.
For the purposes of hotel check-in, both travellers will need a current and valid credit/debit card with sufficient available funds in order to check in at the hotel for security deposit purposes.
Travel insurance must be taken out by the winner and their collaborator prior to travel.
Disability and mobility assistance
The winner and/or their collaborator should inform the Promotor of any wheelchair or similar access needs so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Selection process national competition
All entries received before the competition closing date will be judged on the criteria set out above within 30 working days of that closing date, by a panel of local high-profile influencers, the Glenfiddich ambassador and Malt Master including at least one judge who is independent from the Promoter.
Within 3 weeks of the first round of submissions, [five] entrants will be chosen from the first round of judging.
The winner will be chosen on 01/09/ 2018.
Selection process final global competition
The winners of the national competitions and their influencer/collaborator will have until the start of the global final (4th November 2018) to create or perfect their serve.
They will take this serve and present it as their entry to the global final in Scotland.
Winner notification national competition
The Promoter will use reasonable efforts to notify the winner by email before 7pm on 02/08/18 IST (Kolkata time).
The winner must respond to this email within [14] days or they will automatically be disqualified and another winner will be chosen using the same selection process.
The Promoter reserves the right to repeat this process as often as is necessary.
Provided the winner consents, the winner will be announced by the Promoter on Glenfiddich’s social media pages.

Publicity and intellectual property
The winner agrees to take part in publicity in connection with this promotion.
By participating in the promotion, the winner and their collaborator agree that the Promoter will have the right, without additional payment or permissions, to use their names, country and counties (for UK) of residence for the purposes of announcing the winner and for related promotional purposes.
Any copyright in photographs, images or film that contain entrants in connection with the Promotion belong to the Promoter and can be used in any media across the world, at any time, without restriction.
Please note that any winner under the age of 25 may not be eligible to participate in publicity because of the Promoter’s obligations regarding the marketing of alcoholic products.
By participating in the Promotion, the entrants assign to the Promoter the right of ownership of their entry (including any serves or innovations created for the Promotion, including name, image, description, ingredients and method) to be used for any purpose in any media, without compensation, restriction on use, attribution or liability. Entrants agree not to assert any moral rights in relation to such use.
Name release
The full name and country of residence of the winner may be obtained after the date of judging by sending a stamped self-addressed envelope detailing your request and the name of the Promotion: Glenfiddich World’s Most Experimental Bartender competition to the Promoter at: William Grant & Sons Global, 84 Lower Mortlake Road, TW92HS, Surrey, UK within 3 months of the closing date.
Verification
The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries including but not limited to asking for address and identity details (which they must provide within 14 days) and to refuse to award a prize or withdraw prize entitlement and/or refuse further participation in the promotion and disqualify the entrant where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or any instructions forming part of this promotions entry requirements or otherwise where a entrant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the promotion or won using fraudulent means.
Brand Protection
The winner and their collaborator must not do anything which could, in the reasonable opinion of the Promotor, bring the Promotor, Glenfiddich or any brands associated with the Promotor into disrepute before, during or after this Promotion.
Liability
If for any reason any aspect of this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter may in its sole discretion modify or suspend the promotion or invalidate any affected entries/claims.
If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligation.
Limitation of liability
The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this promotion or accepting or using the prize/gift, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including personal injury, death and fraud) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law.
General
If any of these clauses should be determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable then it shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions and the remaining clauses shall survive and remain in full force and effect.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the rules will be based on Scottish law and the Courts of Scotland will have exclusive jurisdiction.

The Promoter will only use the personal details supplied for the administration of the promotion and for no other purpose, unless we have your consent.
