You'd be surprised how much I get asked about whisky investment. It is a hot topic right now and one that is only set to grow and gather momentum as the world turns on to the fact that returns on whisky are far better than any returns from, in the UK's case, any high street bank or building society.
There is also a feeling of 'winning' about it, and not in the Charlie Sheen sense of the term as, like any investment, you are playing a long or short form of gambling.
The benefit of whisky investment vs. traditional stock market investment is, in its most simplistic of rationale, the fact that the liquid very rarely goes down in price.

Our 21 Year Old whisky is not what you would expect from a traditional Glenfiddich expression. Finished in hand-selected Caribbean rum casks that have previously contained our very own specially made rum, it brings a wealth of exotic flavours to our signature taste.
Recently, we took some time to speak with London-based Benedict Morgan, the still life photographer who’s helped us to create our recently revealed “Raised in Scotland. Roused by the Caribbean” campaign - an equally extraordinary and expressive campaign to celebrate this fine expression and bring to life its fascinating story, vibrant character and distinctive, complex flavour like never before.

Here at Glenfiddich, the quality and lineage of the casks we use is key to ending up with the highest quality whisky possible – as much as 60% of our whisky’s flavour comes from the cask it is matured in.
Glenfiddich casks are crafted by the most skilled of men: the cooper. A job which takes guile, physical strength and years of training to master; the vessels they make must eventually cradle precious single malt whisky, often for decades, and work in partnership with the spirit to deliver something unique, rare and of the upmost quality.
We recently chatted to Ian McDonald, Head Cooper at the Glenfiddich Distillery, and an integral member of the team for over 45 years, about the importance of the casks we use and, more specifically, just how the wood they are made from impacts the award-winning taste of our whisky.
