Recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts, young London artist Carly Bateup plans to spend her time in Scotland examining the relationship between Dufftown and its twin, Mortlach in Canada. "Towns are twinned on the basis of forging a relationship that creates a platform for cross-cultural exchange" she explains. "In the same way, recipes are a set of instructions that frame the combination of ingredients in recipes. I am excited to introduce the realm of recipes and cross- culinary- exchange to the idea of cultural twinning."
